Reviews (excerpts):

"Dibble's people dogs are a cross between caricatures and portraits. Given her background - as an animation artist for Hanna-Barbera, Marvel and Disney – it's only natural that her creatures would be cartoonish vehicles for expression and personality. These dogs sigh, roll their eyes, mull the state of the world and smile wolfishly……Her style is instantly recognizable. She paints and sculpts in a primitive, child-like way. Dibble seems not to worry about refining the images, and so they are direct and seem remarkably free of the kind of fastidiousness that can kill the original spontaneity of a work of art..." Anne Galloway - Times Argus 8/11/06

"And then there are the birds. Two of them, both by Anna Dibble. One sports breasts, gilded skin and a paper birch skirt; the other is a doughy grey form stuck through with porcupine quills and nails. The latter, 'Fergus', looks like a penguin wearing a hair shirt. Both birds are very pagan, ritualistic, and yet they look like toys, too. Adult toys, of a sort…." Anne Galloway – Times Argus June 2004

"...But the real news is this: Anna Dibble... has taken a step beyond T-shirts, acquiring metalworking and ceramic skills in the bargain... Without putting too fine a point on it, the new Dibbles ask to be taken seriously. The narrative and archeological quality in these pieces goes beyond the decorative." October, 2000 - Wm Reed - Manchester Journal
